Baazaar, a matter of shame that a girl is thought to be an article to be sold in market even today

1982 was the year when this movie 'Baazaar' was released. One of the best movies of all times I can call it after watching this marvel today. The story line, the characters, the locations filmed, the decade of eighties, the social fabric then, poverty, helplessness, lust of the demeaned soul, fragrance of love, indecisiveness of heart, the wish for freedom to breath fresh air, the dubious standards of the elite class, the ultimate recourse as death, the repentance, the plight, the suffering all in one movie that too with no non-sense vulgar portrayal of girls that today's movies do, it's a work of excellence. As a child I never liked actors like 'Smita Patil' or 'Nasaruddin Shah'. Then my understanding was not that much. Today the same actors take me by surprise by their portrayal of characters in their acting. I am really taken aback by the performance of 'Smita Patil'. Now I could understand why she was seen as one of the finest actors of Indian Cinema. Salutes to the actors and specially the director Mr. Sagar Sarhadi who made such a wonderful movie. Yes most of us might not be knowing Mr. Sarhadi, he is a great play writer and his movies as a play write include Silsila, Kabhi Kabhi and Chandani. I still have to see many works of art as far as movies are concerned and where my heart goes. By the way, next to watch another jewel 'Arth'.
