Congress party is aiming for a third consecutive Government of UPA, even after the failure at all the fronts of this government. What makes Congress so much confident about its success? Last time it got 206 seats of its own. Any party which gets more than 200 seats would definetely polarise the parties towards it for government formation. On the other hand last time BJP the second largest party got only 116 that's a difference of 90 seats. Problem with other parties in the opposition is that they can't go with BJP due to their secular credentials as they want the minority votes. Due to this even after having around 240 - 250 MPs with its present UPA, the government survives. It's really amazing.. But what's next in store, clearly Congress will lose some of its seats because of its dented image all over India... but would it be so deep a loss that it would not be able to make its government. Unfortunately no, even then it would manage to get around 150-160 seats, then it will be short of around 50-60 MPs.. While BJP can increase its tally to some extent but not more than 20-30. Rest what Congress would lose will be gained by the regional parties. Now In order to keep BJP away from Government formation, same Political parties which are opposing Congress right now, would help Congress form its third consecutive government.. This time some new equations would also come in to play, like JD(U) would be in the UPA side. Post election alliances would be interesting... Let's hope we get a good governance next time.
