इस जगत के दो संस्कार

इस जगत के दो संस्कार 
कही तृष्णा और वासना 
तो कही करुणा और वात्सल्य
कहीं है झूठ और मक्कारी
तो कही सच्चाई और ईमान
कोई है कामचोर
तो कोई है कर्मयोगी
कोई भागे दायित्व से
तो कोई सेवा करने को आतुर
इस जगत में किसी को पहचानूं तो कैसे
खुद को तो पहचान न सका।
ढूंढने चला जब सुंदरता मन की
मिलता नहीं एक भी कोई।
 फिर कोसता खुद की किस्मत
कहाँ पैदा हुआ, पला- बढ़ा।
खुद को अच्छा कहने की बीमारी से ग्रसित
मैं दुसरो में बुराइयाँ देखता रहा।
भूल गया मेरी तरह न जाने कितने ढूंढते
मेरे मन की भी सुंदरता।
संस्कार के इस कसमकस में
हर कोई डूबा, न पार सका।

Shahrukh's secret of his fitness at fifty

Recently saw Sahrukh Khan answering a question put to him by an Indian soldier, how does he keep himself so young even at the age of 50. Shahrukh was candid to accept that he is 51 now. To keep him fit he has got some simple ways. He plays with his children almost daily for one to two hours that involves running. He himself was a good hockey player and he played even at zonal level before he sustained injuries and took the decision not to play it further. He jokingly added that when his children get older with whom he can no longer play, he makes sure another baby is born for him to play with. Well he further added that he has only two children.

Dogs are our best friends

Dogs do have heart. I have seen I had a pet at my home. For about 12 years it was with us. It couldn't see someone crying.. it will come and try to console the crying person. Best part of this pet is it always treats you as your family and will never ditch you.. pets are real stress busters.. they will make you laugh at times when they feel you are sad. They will hug you, they will kiss you and they will catch your attention, divert you from tensions of your life. Do have one if you didn't have this experience. Life will be easier..

President Trump's bold decision against hardliner Islamic ideology - a lesson for India

US president Mr. Trump's bold decision to stop the entry of Islamic hardliners from 7 countries should be welcome wholeheartedly by India since India is one of the biggest victims of terrorism based on hardliner Islamic ideology from Kashmir to Kerala. Well US has opened its eyes well in time before the situation slips out of its hands. I was amazed to know today that only 1% of US population constitutes those who follow Islam and they are worried due to influx of refugees and also the regular immigration, this number may double in next ten years. This is not just in US. The similar sentiment has been shared in countries like France, Germany and Switzerland. No country can open its doors in the name of sheltering refugees who later on will become headache for their own outnumbering the locals or changing the demography of the region. Islamic hardliners are the biggest threat to the world peace. I hope peace loving people of India will take lesson from this. Just for the sake of vote bank politics we should not support hardliners. We have allowed the Bangladeshis and other Islamic refugees to enter in crores and that has changed the demography of many of the districts of the bordering states. We didn't take the pro-active steps and are harnessing the results thereof. We have not taken any lessons from the past. Even now the politicians are for the sake of their vote banks supporting these hardliners. That's pathetic.

My view on the controversial movie on Rani Padmavati

In my childhood we used to share storybooks and books of historical importance and also books on heroics of our Kings and Queens among our friends. I remember then I read about Rani Padmini who committed Jauhar along with around hundred female servants sacrificing their lives putting themselves to fire before Alauddin Khilji the then lusty Mughal Sultan could catch her after killing the king of Chittor, Rawal Ratan Singh. This is an unparalleled example of bravery and self respect. While making a film about her, Sanjay Lila Bhansali should have taken the Rajputs of those area where the shooting was going on into confidence for the subject and the portrayal of Rani in the movie. These are sensitive issues attached with people's emotions. I hope directors, writers and producers would take precautions in future. I appreciate Sanjay Bhansali for his good movies and hope the movie is completed giving full respect and putting real depiction of Rani Padmini in the movie Padmavati.

My younger brother's marriage preparation

Two weeks may be long but it seemed too little specially when it's your younger brother's wedding time. Preparation in such a short span of time was a daunting task. All family members had tasks in hand and everyday 'to do' list of activities were prepared and those activities were performed. Well everybody played their role to the perfection and all ended well. Ceremonious engagement, wedding and reception are now over with the blessings of the family and friends. Everyone is happy and enjoyed the moments of togetherness on multiple occasions and now while parting away, family members are having mixed feeling of joy and sorrow since such occasions to come together for around two weeks seldom come in their lives. A wonderful memory to showcase for all for a long time.. Thanks to all for their well wishes and greetings on the occasion!

Mahashivratri wishes (written yesterday but posted later today)

It's Mahashivratri today, among the most pious days as per the Hindu mythology. This day Lord Shiva was married to Goddess Parvati. While Lord Shiva is a symbol of simplicity, magnanimity, power and meditation, Goddess Parvati is a symbol of love, devotion, divine power and fertility. Shiva and Shakti (Goddess Parvati's another awatar) are inseparable and so Lord Shiva is also known as Ardh Narishwar. This is a symbolic reference to the fact that a man and a woman are incomplete without each other. Hence every time there is any prayer of Pooja performed, it will not be complete without the presence of wife. Well this day Men and women of all ages visit Shiva temples, stand in long queues, pray for prosperity and keep fast for the day to get the blessings of God and Goddess. Let there be peace, prosperity and joy spread in each household on this occasion! Let us do something good today that brings smile on other's face.

A different take at the state of teaching community in India

I just saw an interesting post on FB. This was regarding the state of teachers in India. While in some countries, in the courtroom only the teachers are allowed to sit, in some other only teachers and ministers are given the VVIP status and in some other they have access to special privileges that nobody else can avail. To the contrary in India, there is no special treatment given to teachers and even they are not given salaries in time. I do agree with all what is written there. But at the same time a parallel thinking erupted inside my mind that asked my inner self, " by teachers do we mean the teachers employed by the government?" If I look around I find hundreds and thousands of teachers in many cities who started teaching their students in various disciplines like Maths, Science, Management, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Library Science, Computers, Economics, Biology, Sociology, Political Science and what not.. and earning in lakhs of rupees in a month. This is why they deserve it and people recognised their work and talent that translated into results. They may or may not be working for a government institute but they are highly reputed in their profession. I further got confused when I see thousands of vacancies of teachers being filled in the name of filling the gap of student teacher ratio in schools and colleges. There is a selection process for this but the end result shows that teachers in school fail to give good education to the boys and girls in elementary and high school levels. It's a fact that we don't produce good teachers. Before we want our teachers in government schools and colleges to get the privileges of highest order, we need to create an environment where quality teachers and not just qualified teachers are produced to teach the students. My view is not to hurt the teaching community. I have given a generalized statement and many of my fellow friends might be agreeing to this fact. I also appreciate that all fingers are not equal so there are very good and extra-ordinary teachers too in our schools and colleges and they are not part of that mass I quoted here.
