India - Land of Gods and Goddesses

Author- Manoj Kumar Abhimanyu

India is a land of Gods and Goddesses. We Hindus perceive Almighty in various forms and incarnations for all His powers, benevolence, blessings, creation of each and every element of this universe and demolition of evil forces. We look for power in Goddess Durga, knowledge in Goddess Sarasawati, prosperity in Goddess Luxmi. Yes I took the names of Goddesses intentionally. That explains how we also look God in the female gender which probably in other religions seldom one thinks of.  Elsewhere God is always thought to be Him, not Her while we all know that most of the creatures are born out of females. So She is the genesis of the entire Universe.

Well, we look for one God in all these incarnations. We are taught to start with idols to concentrate our focus on Gods and gradually shift towards meditation where we can enlighten ourselves with the actual perception of God in ourselves, in fact our souls where resides God to whom we also know by the name of Super Soul. The meeting of soul and Super soul is the actual journey of our lives that we keep looking for elsewhere in temples, and in idols.

  1. Hinduism is the only religion in which females are also perceived as Gods.

  2. True Krishna.. Hinduism is the oldest religion yet most modern in its approach. But we perceive modernity in different sense and mostly negative traits have been associated with modernity that today the new generation believes in.
