Pandal hopping and youngsters' adda during last four days of Durgapuja at Kolkata

Now when Durgapuja Pandals are open for hopping, I find so much of crowds everywhere here at Kolkata... I was not able to find Auto today evening while returning from office.. one more day to go, from Saptami we have our holidays starting... Well here I saw that mostly all Bengalis are crazy for these ten days in the year... they wait anxiously for this time through out the year... I saw the adda ...last year once I went for Pandal hopping. I did not know earlier what exactly this Kolkatan Adda means though I had read about this several times in newspapers and heard about it from some of my Bengali friends. Then I saw boys and girls in the age group of 15 to 40 all enjoying sitting on newspapers in a park in front of a pandal which was made in side a park.. there were some different groups of boys and girls who were playing guitars and singing some Bengali, English and Hindi songs, they were probably the budding musicians who wanted to get attention of the public. There were some audiences looking adoringly towards them surrounding them all. In a central embankment, one group of young girls and guys were waiting to dance on Dhak... Ah.. that was awesome.. initially it started with one or two and subsequently it was having a crowd of dozens dancing on the tune of melody coming out of the Dhak.. even that was played by some of the old time veterans from the organisers... all the dancers were greeted and loved like anything... Girls were going crazy on the boys who were dancing on Dhak.. There were food stalls, ice cream parlours every where inside the park.. some guys were selling old newspapers for others to buy those to sit in the open over the grass inside the park. It was Kolkatan Pooja crazy crowd's adda. I loved all this. Really something you can experience only if you come here this time, right from Panchami till Navami... It's another experience, very different, very rejuvenating.. A time when all singles try to find a love bird for him or her and those who have found theirs, renew their commitments for each other on this occasion.
