Office Spouses - a reality in today's Corporate world

Office Spouse is a term usually common for the western world where there happens to be a close relationship between two individuals of opposite sexes working together in the same office. In today's world working hours at office have become longer because of extra workloads. In this scenario, people often remain in offices more than they do in their homes. Even at homes after coming back from office, they remain quite tired and dull. As a result they hardly get time to interact with their real spouses at home. Even taking dinner or breakfast together is not a surety if both the spouses are working. In this scenario, it is often seen that they find someone among their colleagues who due to their nature of job lead more time with each other and hence develop natural affinity. They share their happy and sad moments together like spouses. They give a healing touch to each other whenever they require so. Many organisations recognize and value these relationships as they think such relations keep the mood and motivation of their employees conducive for work as they don't remain occupied with the personal problems and tensions of the home at their workplaces. Well now a days the same concept has taken space in Indian metros, not only in Private Sector but also in Public Sector Companies. We may often see married people having affairs with their office colleagues. Taking lunch together everyday, moving with each other hand in hand, taking leave and going to Cinemas, malls, parks and making short duration trips either for business purposes or for fun ride, just the two together are very common features of such relationships. This is very common these days, though we still don't name that relationship as 'Office Spouse'. But I feel in next few years this word would be commonly used here as well. Well People say, "Love knows no bars". "Happiness if not available at home, get it from where ever you find it" is the new life mantra of the new generation and those under their forties.
