On the occassion of birth day of two great leaders of our nation (2nd October).

India is a socialist democratic republic what we call it as per the constitution we adopted. But there is hardly any socialism left.. there is no real democracy and republic is a word, hardly a few hundred people would be knowing its meaning... Do people have any say in what the government is taking the decisions or remained idle for most of the part of their rule till a month back? Once the 545 parliamentarians are elected by us, do they come back to us and state the affairs to us what they promised and what they achieved? Do they come back to us and ask us what's good and what's bad and what better can be done for the betterment of the people in their constituency... Why there is this much of gap...? In the parliament they fight like anything... they don't behave properly.. most of the time parlaiment does not run.. but they take their salary and allowances in full... Why even the election commission is silent in providing at least a provision while going for casting our voting rights to reject all the candidates in the fray? If I don't like the candidates, I should have the way to express my opinion... Few people will say democracy means any one can become the prime minister or chief minister in India... It's good. But when people who are not deserving for the post of even a third grade post in any Government Office, they become prime minister (not talking about today's PM), what good they can do for the nation? Think about American presidential system, who ever become eligible for the post of the President, they have to prove themselves before their citizens, three or four times they come for public debate and prove their suitability for the highest post of their nation even before the election starts. They put their hearts out to prove their suitability through their intelligence, their demeanour, their wits, their zeal, their willingness to work for the people.. and then the public decides after taking note of all what they demonstrate to them... but in India, post of PM is nominated one, so any one can become PM or CM in states.. After that what happens we all know... Really I feel the system of democracy adopted by us is not suitable for a country as big as India. In the coming years, the anarchy would increase... the people need to think of change in this system... wishing a good future on the occassion of the birth day of two great leaders of our nation - Mahatma Gandhi ji and our late Prime minister Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji...
